Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Legal Assistant / Paralegal. This role offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in a challenging yet rewarding legal environment, working approximately 40 hours per week at our East Brunswick office location.
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of social security disability cases, overseeing administrative and federal court levels.
Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and gathering necessary documentation.
Obtain and organize vital documents, including medical records and reports.
Assist in the preparation of civil complaints and legal documents.
Ensure timely retrieval of documents from clients through effective client contact.
Handle scanning, filing, and electronic submission of documents to the Court or hearing office.
Provide support with marketing and advertising efforts as required.
Perform any additional tasks as delegated by the attorneys.
Qualifications:
Preferably, at least 1 year of experience in law practice; however, motivated individuals with a passion for learning are encouraged to apply.
Ability to work independently with a proactive approach to tasks.
Strong attention to detail and efficiency in completing assignments.
Proficiency in typing and familiarity with legal documentation processes.
