U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. ("USPh"), founded in 1990, is a publicly held company that operates 700+ outpatient physical and/or occupational therapy clinics in 44 states. U.S. Physical Therapy is one of the largest publicly traded, pure-play operators of outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinics. Our clinics provide pre- and post-operative care for various orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, rehabilitation of injured workers, and preventative care. USPh also manages physical therapy facilities for third parties, including physician groups and hospitals. USPh’s clinics are directed by a licensed physical therapist who drives patient volume via local physicians, former patients, and other referral sources.
We seek a skilled Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our in-house legal team. You will be responsible for assisting and supporting the General Counsel and other attorneys within the Legal Department on various matters related to the operation of a nationwide provider of rehabilitation services. You will also serve in a support capacity by organizing files for different legal documents.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, file, and maintain contracts and corporate records.
- Process applications and forms for state licensure, annual reports, and other local regulatory filings.
- Manage corporate entity information for 150+ family of corporate entities.
- Assist in the review of records requests.
- Assist with the organization/maintenance of company litigation files.
- Perform other duties in support of the legal department as needed.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a legal setting, preferably in corporate and transactional matters.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited ABA school, preferred.
- Experience communicating with local/state agencies and government entities.
- Project/Organizational Management skills.
- Prior experience in corporate and business entity or license filings.
- Knowledge with MS Office, Westlaw, and Lexis.
- Healthcare experience a plus.
