About the Job
We are partnering with a well-established East Bay law firm to find a Legal Assistant / Litigation Secretary for a full-time, in-office role. We are looking for a dedicated, proactive individual with at least 2 years of experience supporting attorneys in a litigation setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team in a dynamic practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to 2-3 attorneys.
- Prepare and manage legal documents, including discovery, correspondence, court filings, and e-filings.
- Maintain large case files and ensure efficient document management.
- Schedule hearings, meetings, and manage attorney calendars.
- Handle case deadlines and assist with legal research and drafting.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth office operations.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of recent legal secretarial or assistant experience with a focus on litigation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal software such as ProLaw or similar is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Experience with e-filing systems, document management, and computerized calendaring systems.
- A professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with labor law, NLRB/PERB, or employment matters is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a bonus.
