Growing Dallas area law firm has a great opportunity available for an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant. This position will support multiple attorneys.
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of litigation experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a legal department or law firm setting. Experience in Labor & Employment litigation is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook as well as Adobe Acrobat and document management systems.
- Must be organized and able to handle many tasks at one time.
- Must have knowledge of legal billing.
Duties include:
- Assist with attorney's time entry and billing for the Dallas office.
- Update internal documents in NetDocs.
- Scheduling monthly luncheons.
- Ordering office supplies and employee badges when needed.
- Validating parking for visitors.
- Prepare and track packages/mail sent using Certified Mail Return Receipts.
- Calendaring, keeping up-to-date with upcoming deadlines.
- Prepare conference rooms for meetings.
- Schedule Zoom meetings.
- Initiates communication with attorneys regarding when important assignments are due.
- Electronic filing in state and federal courts.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports for the attorneys.
- Input time for the attorneys.
- Prepare binders for depositions and hearings.
- File management - opening, closing, and retrieval of client files.
- Must be a team player and wear many hats.
REQUIRED:Creating templates, e-filing in Federal and State Court, Bates labeling, editing complex MS Word documents using Table of Authorities and Table of Contents, editing prebills, calendaring, and experience with document management systems.
