Legal Assistant

Location: Kansas City, KS

Company Overview: Join our esteemed medium/large law firm in Kansas City as a Legal Assistant. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of legal experience, preferably in a similar setting, to support our legal team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the success of our firm.

Position Overview: As a Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to attorneys, managing calendars, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the efficient operation of our legal practice.

Responsibilities:

• Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
• Prepare and file legal documents in Kansas state and federal courts.
• Maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring accuracy and organization.
• Assist with document production, formatting, and editing using Adobe, Excel, and Word (Firm Styles experience preferred).
• Enter time entries and assist with billing tasks.
• Prepare and organize trial binders, exhibits, and other materials.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and other parties.
• Provide general administrative support as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, preferably in a medium/large law firm.
• Litigation experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with calendaring, e-filing in Kansas and federal courts.
• Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, and Word; Firm Styles experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
