Job Details
As a Legal Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
2. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information to support case preparation.
3. Managing and organizing case files and maintaining case calendars.
4. Drafting correspondence and legal documents such as subpoenas, discovery requests, and responses.
5. Coordinating and scheduling depositions, court dates, and meetings.
6. Interacting with clients, court personnel, and other professionals.
7. Reviewing and summarizing medical records, deposition transcripts, and other case-related documents.
8. Ensuring all case-related deadlines are met.
9. Assisting with trial preparation, including the preparation of trial exhibits and witness preparation.
10. Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client and firm information.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in General Liability or Civil Litigation.
2. A Paralegal Certificate or equivalent legal education.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
8. A strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
9. A high level of professionalism and a strong commitment to client service.
10. The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
