A reputable AV-rated law firm located in downtown Fort Lauderdale is seeking a skilled commercial real estate legal assistant with at least 2 years of experience in the field. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of DisplaySoft, Alta-Star, and Excel, although these skills are preferred but not mandatory. The role involves a range of responsibilities, including word processing, preparing contract and loan documents, and transcribing dictation. The legal assistant will be tasked with ordering title commitments, survey certifications, and estoppels, while also coordinating the closing process with lenders. Serving as a liaison between clients, banks, and attorneys is a key part of the job. Additional duties include preparing closing documents, assisting with title issue resolution, monitoring transactions from inception to settlement, and preparing HUD-1 Settlement Statements. The position also requires reviewing closing instructions, ordering loan payoffs, scheduling closings, and assisting with closing disbursements. Salary will be determined based on the candidate's level of experience.
