About the Job
A major client ot ours is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Legal Assistant Floater with expertise in Litigation, Corporate Law, and Trust & Estate matters for a law firm located in Nassau County. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and a demonstrated ability to support various practice areas with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in client communication, and assist in creating, formatting, and revising legal documents.
- Perform straight typing and proofreading of documents to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize Firm Macros to streamline document preparation.
- Prepare pleadings and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Convert documents from PDF to Word format as necessary.
- Manage Winscribe transcription tasks.
- Apply Kofax PDF functions for document editing and enhancement.
- Scan, email, and organize legal documents efficiently.
- Track attorney time using iTimekeep software.
- Prepare and submit expense and reimbursement reports through Chrome River.
- Electronically file court documents via NYSCEF and CM/ECF platforms.
- Coordinate and schedule Zoom meetings and conferences for attorneys and clients.
- Submit vendor invoices for payment processing.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment with legal staff, peers, and administrative teams.
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.
- Office hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
