About the Job
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Fax, scan and copy documents
- Maintain office filing and storage system
- Update and maintain personal injury database
- Obtain/retrieve medical records and billing information
- Type documents and correspondence
- Provide general clerical support to the team as needed
- Act as the point of contact with a variety of medical and governmental assistance providers
- Regular, consistent, punctual attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledgeable in legal practices and procedures and business practices
- Excellent clerical and general office administration skills
- Procedures for researching and preparing legal documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; as well as organizational and time management skills
- High command of English grammar, usage, punctuation and spelling
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and computer knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet timelines, maintain professional demeanor and adapt to changing priorities efficiently
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Coordination to operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, printers, scanners, etc).
Education and Experience
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required (College Degree preferred)
- Paralegal certification preferred
- 3 years prior experience in a legal setting
