Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Processor to support our Personal Injury Litigation team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and management of personal injury claims and legal cases, ensuring smooth and efficient case progression from initial intake through settlement or trial. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of personal injury law, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist in the management of personal injury cases, including drafting and filing legal documents, preparing case files, and maintaining case records.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, providing updates on case progress, requesting documents, and gathering information needed to support the litigation process.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and ensure the timely filing of legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Discovery Process: Assist attorneys and paralegals in conducting discovery, including the preparation of interrogatories, document requests, and subpoenas, as well as organizing responses and following up on outstanding items.
- Medical Records Management: Obtain and review medical records, bills, and reports relevant to personal injury cases, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with legal requirements.
- Court Filings: Assist in preparing and filing court documents electronically or physically, following local court rules and procedures.
- Settlement Coordination: Assist with settlement negotiations by organizing necessary documents, medical records, and financial data, and liaising with insurance companies, clients, and opposing counsel.
- Case Deadlines: Track and monitor case deadlines, court dates, and statutory timelines to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Spanish speaker
- High school diploma or equivalent required; paralegal certification or legal assistant experience is preferred.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or legal support.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law and litigation procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
