About the Job
Our client, a major Delaware law firm, is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join their Corporate Litigation Group. The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) performs a variety of administrative support duties for the lawyers and delivers high-quality service to internal and external clients, exhibiting a commitment to integrity and excellence. This position provides dedicated support to several attorneys in the Corporate Litigation practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Review and analyze briefs and motions in preparation for e-filing and service
- Draft routine court documents for attorney review and approval
- Prepare pleadings and other docketed material for service and filing, with particular emphasis on electronic filing of documents using the Delaware Court of Chancery’s system and related filing platforms
- Maintain case files and manage document discovery
- Update and manage attorney calendars with close attention and detail to court dates and other relevant case-related deadlines
- Perform general administrative support functions as needed to support attorneys and clients and meet deadlines
- Manage event invitations and guest lists
- Assist attorneys with time entry
Qualifications
- At least one year in the legal space
- Strong organizational and administrative skills; detail-oriented and proactive
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment; multi-task and meet multiple, overlapping deadlines
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs
- Technologically savvy: able to quickly master various software programs (e.g., court filing software, law firm billing, and time-entry software, legal/business research platforms)
- Full knowledge of filling in federal and Delaware state courts
- Associate degree, paralegal certificate, or comparable experience required
