About the Job
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support a law firm in Downtown Chicago (Loop Area).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative assistance, including answering phones, managing emails, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date, organized, and easily accessible.
- Act as the point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and scheduling meetings with attorneys as needed.
- Organize and maintain both electronic and physical files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with document retention policies.
- Assist with preparing and filing legal documents with courts, both electronically and in-person, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Draft, format, and proofread various legal documents including correspondence, contracts, and memos, and emails.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel)
- Previous office administrative assistant experience
- Previous legal experience is a plus
Details:
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm and Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
- Location: Downtown Chicago (Loop area)
- Pay Rate: $20 per hour
