Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a Legal Accounting Clerk to join their esteemed team. This position is based in Emeryville, California, and offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing flexibility with three days in the office and two days remote. The role primarily focuses on accounts payable, with a smaller portion dedicated to accounts receivable. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior law firm experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable processes, handling approximately 90% AP and 10% AR tasks.
- Process large payouts on settled cases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collect and save invoices, receipts, and all case-related documents for potential judicial review.
- Prepare expense reports using Concur and download reports from the system.
- Perform detailed data entry, thoroughly reviewing transactions to identify any discrepancies.
- Handle credit card transactions efficiently.
- Collaborate with Senior Accountants to support AP and AR functions.
- Utilize Excel for tasks requiring Pivot Tables and V LookUps to maintain data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a law firm setting is a requirement.
- Strong understanding of both receivables and payables.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for reviewing transaction data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in using Pivot Tables and V LookUps.
- Experience with Concur for expense reporting is preferred.
Required Work Hours
Work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This role offers flexibility with a hybrid schedule, requiring Tuesday as a mandatory in-office day.
Benefits
The role offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $31 to $39 per hour. Overtime opportunities are available and compensated accordingly.
