Overview
The Department of Aviation and Technical Education in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University (USU) offers a non-tenure track, nine-month faculty position as a Lecturer, or Professional Practice Assistant Professor of Plumbing. The relative weights for this position is 95% teaching and 5% service. As part of USU's land grant mission to make academic programs accessible throughout the state, the position will be physically located at the USU Eastern Campus in Price, Utah.
This position is a non-tenure track academic-year (nine-month) appointment plus 2 months of summer funding budgeted for this position. An additional month of salary may be available based upon external funding sources and/or departmental opportunities. The primary role assignment is teaching and the successful candidate will teach undergraduate career and technical education courses to students pursuing Plumbing certificates and degrees with a focus upon southeast Utah. The major focus of this position is to build stackable pathways in a 2+2+2 model with concurrent enrollment, focused Plumbing training, culminating in technical education certificates, and further stackablity into AAS and BS degrees based upon industry needs. The target is to provide opportunities for students and to develop a skilled Plumbing workforce in Southeast Utah. All faculty members are also expected to make positive contributions to the University through a service role.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant for the position will teach, improve, and develop courses in the Plumbing program with an emphasis in the certificate and degree programs. Instructional emphasis will be placed on providing excellent instruction in Plumbing content. Additionally, the importance of providing Plumbing training to non-degree seeking students will be recognized. Instruction to concurrent /dual enrollment students, adults, and the local workforce, as needed, will be expected. Participation in university, college, and departmental activities is required as part of each USU faculty member's service responsibilities. Engagement in the local community is expected. The effective use of USU's learning management system (i.e. Canvas) is required.
* Classroom and laboratory instruction.
* Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
* Demonstrated depth of understanding of the International Mechanical Code and other State and Local applicable codes as well as industry practices.
* Teach courses that provide workforce training and industry validated certifications.
* Teach some evening, high school, and community courses as needed.
* Share in management, maintenance, and improvement of the Plumbing facility and equipment.
