ABOUT CONGRESSIONAL COUNTRY CLUB
We began in 1921 as there was a need for a Club where Members of Congress could meet socially with businessmen. The idea was taken to Herbert Hoover, who at the time was the Secretary of Commerce, and he agreed to help wholeheartedly. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE TEAM LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
As a member of the Team Member Engagement Department (AKA Human Resources) at Congressional Country Club, you lead by example by helping us carry out our Core Values, Obsess over Member Hospitality, Be a Thriving Team Member, Develop Yourself and Others This role provides the bridge between painting the Core Values on the wall and helping people live them every day.
Responsibilities –Leaning on operational knowledge and relationships with as many Team Members as possible to remove barriers and empower the team through training. The Learning Manager is the content manager for the Club's core values. Working closely with the Executive Team and Club Leadership to develop content, refine, and communicate the Club's core values. Uses data and management by walking around (MBWA) to drive conversations and initiatives that best meet the needs of the Club.
Identifying ways to support individual growth and learning objectives through the Core Values. Working towards building on leadership onboarding programs, position-specific training programs, and individual learning and development plans.
The role is designed to focus on bridging operational success with club-wide initiatives. Foundational knowledge of Human Resources is helpful in seeing problems before they exist, but not required. This role is most successful when it is not pulled into being an HR generalist.
Offer support to all Team Members in matters relating to training, learning, and development HR, including offering advice and guidance on performance, career advancement, and training. Often leading training and building presentations for varying formats and group sizes (5-250) Partners with stakeholders to ensure employees are trained on the needed skills to successfully perform their jobs to attain service excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expertise in (or strong evidence of passion for) learning/capability building
- Prior experience as an operations leader in hospitality, preferred
- Prior experience in a leadership role, required
- Contagious, high energy, positive personality, required
- Experience operating in diverse teams
- Excellent verbal and written communicator
- Must have strong internal and external customer service skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with multiple teams
- Strong teamwork
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time-sensitive deadlines required
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and ability to solve complex problems with little assistance
- Bi-lingual, Spanish, a plus

The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing the organization's training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees at all levels within the organization. This role involves assessing training needs, developing curriculum, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs to ensure alignment with the credit union's strategic goals.
The Learning and Development Manager will assist employees and all appropriate internal credit union partners. Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath's mission, culture, and core values. Encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind always. Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific direction from management. Ensures value through decision-making that supports credit union goals and interests. Passionately displays a desire to build rapport and expand relationships with all members both internally and externally. Stay informed on OnPath's products and services to provide the right recommendations to the right members at the right time. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the credit union to peers, members, and communities we serve.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and builds content for a comprehensive training program to enhance employees' skills and knowledge, fostering their continuous growth and development.
- Ensures training programs are current, relevant, and engaging. Incorporates feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training content.
- Partners with department heads to develop and monitor onboarding plans for managers and above.
- Designs and conducts leadership training for the organization.
- Tracks and analyzes training outcomes to measure program success and ROI.
- Maintains accurate training records and documentation.
- Manages the organization's Learning and Development budget.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Designs and conducts management training for new managers.
- Oversees the organization's Learning and Development platform (BVS). Assigns, reports, and makes recommendations on compliance-related training.
- Partners with department heads to identify individual and departmental training needs.
- Conducts training sessions using diverse methods including classroom instruction, e-learning, role-playing, simulations, etc. Collaborates with external vendors and consultants for specialized training programs when necessary.
- Designs and conducts leadership training for the organization's High Potential Program (HYPO). Oversees the Mentorship Program.
Event Planning and Execution for Team Member Events:
- Collaborate with team leaders to plan and coordinate annual team member events, including the Winter Party, Spring Leadership Summit, Summer Team Member Event, and Winter Leadership Event.
- Manage event logistics, such as vendor coordination, scheduling, and setup, to ensure seamless execution.
- Contribute creative ideas for event themes, activities, and programming to enhance team member engagement.
- Oversee on-site event operations, ensuring all details align with the club's standards of excellence.
- Work closely with internal departments to align event goals with organizational objectives and team member recognition initiatives.
- Assist in budget planning and expense tracking for team member events.
- Support post-event evaluations and reporting to refine future planning processes
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
- Strong design and development experience.
- A college degree.
Interpersonal Skills needed:
The ability to motivate or influence inside or outside senior-level executives is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior-level dialogue, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
Other skills needed:
Ability to foster and work collaboratively across divisions, functions, and at all levels.
Experience in process improvement, adult learning, and organizational development methodologies. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Comfort with complexity, ambiguity, and change.
Work Schedule:
This full-time position with an in-office schedule.
