About the Job
This position reports directly to the Learning & Development Manager under the Technology Department. The purpose of the job is to support the Learning & Development Manager in day-to-day tasks. The Learning & Communications Assistant needs to enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is driven, fast-paced, analytical, and customer/community oriented. The Ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Learning & Communications Assistant will need to have the ability to work independently on projects from beginning to end and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Learning & Development Manager with the creation, maintenance and execution of development and training programs and the communications/task management platform for our store, distribution center, and corporate staff.
- Maintain the Training Calendar on any related platforms.
- When required, provide a bridge for smooth communication between the Learning & Development Manager, stores, and other departments. Specifically relating to HFU and onboarding, vendor training (live and remote), RTS classes for stores and public Master Classes.
- Create, review and update the digital training library while maintaining the learning paths within the LMS.
- Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as posting company communication via the company’s communication platform. This includes, but is not limited to, weekly posting of the discontinued items list, weekly posting of price changes, important announcements from various departments etc.
- Assists with projects by helping meet project deadlines and managing challenges that develop.
- Assist the project leaders by communicating with all the involved parties and managing the timeline and deliverables of the projects under their control .
- Creates reports analyzing effectiveness of new and current technological and training specific initiatives. Including, but not limited to, weekly reporting of store training completion, training class impacts on sales goals etc.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- This position is a 45 hour per week position and will require some weekend and evening availability.
- Have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of an audience, in person and virtual.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Web Streaming platforms such as Vimeo.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with staff and external contacts.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using CRM.

Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged movement requiring standing, walking, kneeling, etc. to accomplish required tasks.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times.
