Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG) is seeking a qualified Leader Training Program (LTP) Brigade Engineer Battalion Coach provide professional services and mission support to the U.S. Army Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) located at Fort Johnson, Louisiana. Mission Support services for the JRTC, one of the US Army's Combat Training Centers, entails providing realistic, graduate-level collective training experience at the Brigade Combat Team (BCT) level with the primary objective of training light infantry, airborne, air assault, rangers and other special operations units. Historically, the JRTC has hosted rotational exercises for US Army motorized and mechanized formations, as well as select units from the US Marine Corp, US Navy or US Air Force.
The JRTC typically hosts ten standard rotational exercises each Fiscal Year (FY). Typical standard rotational exercises are designed based on a 14 calendar day training period with 18 calendar days of Live Fires typically starting prior to Force on Force (FOF) and running concurrently during the fourteen (14) training days. The standard training exercise is scripted and typically based on any combination of offense, defense, and stability operations. Standard rotations take place in a generic region with scenarios and Opposing Forces (OPFOR) threats based on the Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE). Rotational Training Unit (RTU) missions conducted during standard rotations are generally in direct alignment to the RTU’s standard Mission Essential Task List (METL) and training objectives.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Coach, teach, and mentor Brigade level commanders and staffs and subordinate battalion commanders and staffs during each LTP cycle.
- Prepare and facilitate small group instruction emphasizing mission focused individual and collective training in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), estimate procedures, information management, mission command, SOPs for planning, orders preparation, rehearsals and case studies for the Mission Command and their War Fighting Functions focused on critical thinking and decision making.
- Be prepared to utilize the Joint Combat and Tactical Simulations (JCATS) to exercise elements of the execution of orders produced at the LTP seminar and rehearsals.
- Provide the rotational unit with observed tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), where appropriate, to enhance the training effectiveness and after action reviews (AARs) to provide feedback throughout the training.
- Use current Army doctrine as the basis for all training.
- LTP practical exercises shall include decision making battle drills, use of doctrinal products, battle management aids and case studies.
- Recommend the inclusion of new methodologies, the art of operational design, changes in organization and processes to facilitate emerging changes in Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF).
- Generate and store classified material and hardware up to the Secret level utilizing GFE in approved Government facilities.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess, at a minimum, military experience at the tactical battalion command level consistent with the LTP unit of assignment.
- Possess a valid state drivers license and maintain post driving privileges.
- Proficiency in all MS Office applications and ability to operate a PC for an extended period of time.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Able to work extended and irregular hours, to include weekends, during periods of rotational exercise support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as an Army Service School instructor/small group leader, or as a CTC OCT is desired.
- Former Brigade Commander for this type LTP unit is desired.
Clearance: Requires SECRET Security Clearance
Location: Duty performance is located at Fort Johnson, LA or other designated location.
