We are currently seeking a Director of Catering, Events, & Marketing to add to our Leadership team. We are looking for hard-working individuals who thrive in a fast-paced positive environment. 5 days per week with a focus on high volume times - Saturdays are required.
About the Role:
This is a senior position that has oversight into all catering orders, marketing plans and events, and public outreach. As such, it broadly reaches the team members and guests inside and outside the restaurant as a Brand Ambassador. Inside the restaurant, operationally, this role interacts with the FOH, BOH, and Dining Room team members and guests driving operational excellence and catering / marketing activities. Outside the restaurant this role ensures that every interaction is consistent with the image & culture of Chick-fil-A and Westbury. Spearheading the Catering, Events, and Marketing Programs will allow Chick-fil-A Westbury to grow our occasions to care in our community, aligning with our corporate shared vision to be the world’s most caring company, and our Westbury vision to Serve Like a Champion.
Time in Building
- Aligned with building’s greatest catering and events needs – should shift as needs shift
- During peak times, performs a FOH or BOH operations role as the business needs and to facilitate catering and marketing activities
- 40 hour work week
- 1 day off per week (in addition to Sunday)– should consistently be day with least building need
Catering:
- Fully accountable for the catering program in Westbury
- Owns the catering build out plan including strategy and marketing activities to grow our catering presence
- Identifies opportunities to grow catering services (targeting local businesses, schools, organizations)
- Uses corporate provided tools, templates and brand guardrails to create, post, and distribute catering collateral
- Works with Finance, Operations, and FOH/BOH leaders in promotions and plans that will impact operations
- Works alongside leaders and team members in both FOH and BOH to plan and fulfill catering orders
- Reviews catering order list daily on the iPOS/CFA Home Application and follows up with customers to confirm and finalize order details at least one day prior to fulfillment date; ensures time of pickup or delivery is in line with CFA standards for keeping food hot; ensures payment is executed either prior to or at the point of pickup
- Coordinates all catering delivery logistics to ensure smooth and professional delivery each time, including setting departure times for each order
- This individual does not necessarily need to be the one delivering the orders, but does need to ensure that each order has a driver assigned
- A team of catering delivery drivers should grow to and remain at a healthy number in order to support the demand of catering delivery operations
- Reviews large orders or outliers with operational leads at least one to two day prior to fulfillment to ensure trucks are in line with required materials for fulfillment
- Ensures that catering materials are supplies are in stock at all times to meet demand
- Prints order tickets on the day of fulfillment and reviews with kitchen leads to ensure plan fulfillment timing, staffing
- Supports kitchen staff as necessary in the preparation of orders
- Assembles orders once components are ready
- Upon pickup and when possible, greets catering guest (or assigns guest greeter) to review and check order, facilitate payment and close the transaction in the iPOS, support carrying and loading into car (if appropriate)
- Follow-up with the guest the following day to receive feedback and provide to team
- Works directly with the Executive Director of Operations to assess progress and needed support
Marketing & Events:
- Accountable for Marketing & Special Events in Westbury expanding our presence in our market and growing our occasions to care through transaction count and positive guest interactions / CEM
- Owns the creation and execution of the Westbury marketing plan that aligns with the corporate and tristate plan
- Works with the team to identify and schedule marketing events and delivers associated communications to guests and the other Long Island operations teams
- Manages all aspects of execute marketing events and works alongside the Westbury operations team to ensure operational excellence
- Grows and maintains restaurant information on Social Media outlets (including FB, Instagram, through Social Media Publisher, Google Business, Waze Business) to market our restaurant through corporate sponsored promotions and restaurant specific events and promotions
- Identifies and designs advertisements and manages associated budget (gaining approval by Finance lead) through digital media and via Signage (inside and outside restaurant signage materials from corporate, handouts, community board)
- Uses Spotlight as necessary to identify current and target customers and run promotions to grow customer base
- Manages restaurant partnerships (and looks for new partnerships) including those with universities/schools, charities/youth organizations, other businesses to promote new business and deliver on the corporate and Westbury giving strategy.
- Acts as a pivot point between the Long Island Marketing sub-team and Westbury; participates in the Long Island Marketing sub team applying LI wide events / promotions to Westbury
- Acts as a pivot point between CFA Corporate Marketing and Westbury Leadership
- Reviews CFA Corporate Marketing communications on a weekly basis and acts as a main POC to corporate for Westbury marketing
- Acts as a main POC for Westbury leadership for corporate marketing activities and information needing to be delivered and applied at the restaurant level
