Perform manual labor associated with all aspects of maintaining floors in accordance with contract specifications. - Complies with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
- Reads, writes, and speaks (communicate and relate information) English
- Oversees all aspects of cleaning of assigned areas making sure floor techs follow procedures and perform duties as assigned
- Reads and understands all technical manuals for the equipment that is being used and follows proper guidance in regards to maintenance and use of the equipment.
- Ensures floor tech team understands and follows technical manual procedures, and guidance.
- Inspects scheduled work, keeps daily log of cleaning discrepancies, and make corrections
- Performs and documents inspections for Chimes DC and reports critical items immediately
- Verifies compliance with safety and security procedures
- Performs daily floor tech functions while also leading team in day-to-day activities
- Maintains all floor surfaces including porches and steps at entrances
- Details corners and edges
- Moves furniture/equipment to gain access to floors
- Mixes chemicals, uses and measures correctly
- Strips, seals, waxes, burnishes, buffs floors, and cleans carpets as required by contract
- Sweeps, dust mops, and damp mops floors
- Ensures that all equipment is properly prepared for use
- Uses wet vacs and vacuums for carpets and tile
- Uses low speed and high speed rotary floor machines and ride on floor machines
- Uses scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, strippers, and extractors
- Uses wet vacs, carpet extractors, and carpet spotters
- Maintain High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) equipment
- Empties and cleans machines after use and maintains equipment to standards
- Performs preventative maintenance check on equipment before and after use
- Follows all safety rules and procedures when using any equipment
- Follow Safety Regulations, report incidents, and manage procedures for safety, medical and/or emergency situations
- Cleans water accumulation after a pipe breaks including contaminated septic water
- Removals trash in specific areas when required
- Performs or assists with special restoration work, as required
- Perform emergency cleaning and carpet extraction tasks as required
- Acts as teacher, coach, and mentor to newly hired floor techs for training purposes
- Acts as coach and mentor to all floor techs when training is needed
- Acts as supervisor when supervisor is not present
- Ensures and reports on quality and quantity of work completed by floor techs with accuracy
- Assigns rework as needed and assists to ensure 100% compliance with contract specifications
- Assists with training staff in proper procedures and techniques
- Works closely with supervisor to ensure all duties assigned to team are completed per contract
- Promptly answers/responds to all calls or messages from supervisor or designated representative
- Immediately reports facilities issues such as broken or leaking fixtures to supervisor
- Reports to supervisor supply needs and equipment issues
- Complies with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards
- Attends meetings and training programs and relates information to employees
- Attends work regularly and remains on site for scheduled shift
- Passes and complies with CPR/First Aid training, OSHA training
- Passes and complies with all building and security requirements and procedures
Secondary Functions:
- Assists with inventory
- Keeps records and provides requested reports
- Assists with special events by setting up and taking down furniture
- Assists with standard custodial duties as needed and in emergency situations
- Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, driveways, and parking areas when required
- Keeps track of and maintain assigned equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
- Performs other duties and tasks as needed

- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
- Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

- Ability to comply with all building, security, and company policies and procedures
Essential Personnel: This function/position is designated as essential. - High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid CPR/FR certification preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory standards for floor care and chemicals
- Knowledge of floor finishes, applications, and removals
- Knowledge of floor care equipment
- Bilingual preferred-Spanish/English
Experience:
- Two years' experience as a floor tech
- One-year experience as a lead worker preferably working as a floor lead
- Custodial and Floor tech training
- Candidates with disabilities preferred
