Lead UI/UX Designer - Synectics for Management Decisions Inc

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer Lead to support our government customer located in the Washington DC area. The UI/UX Designer Lead will be in charge of the employment of the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and create design elements that will be reusable to the customer. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Participates in software systems development, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products
• Duties include software requirements analysis, user interface design, user experience analysis, and developing and documenting UI designs based on standards and best practices.
• Navigate complex scenarios and challenges and devise courses of action to resolve situations with predictable outcomes.
• Lead critical objectives where decision-making is of utmost concern to the outcome.
• Design complex web applications including analyzing and updating existing applications and developing new applications
• Experience working with users to evaluate current business processes, design and develop intuitive UIs to support new processes
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to perform well as a member of a rapid-paced, cross-functional team environment.
• Utilize agile development methodology

Experience and Qualifications:

• 7 years UI/UX Designer experience
• Capable of generating ideas and prototyping concepts that are anchored in research insights, subject knowledge, technology requirements, and business goals
• Extensive experience with establishing and managing branding, style guide, and design systems
• Self-starter who can prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• They have an exuberant passion for the power of simple and straightforward design and an "anything is possible" mindset
• Effective communicator who can facilitate, write, and is comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
• Passionate about improving the experience of users
• Deep understanding of strategic design methods and enterprise applications
• Experience in planning and conducting effective design sessions and discovery workshops, including meetings with stakeholders and clients
• Ability to strategize the scope of UX/UI work and balance being a customer advocate, branding, and user experience needs
• 508 compliance experience
• Federal government contracting experience is a plus!

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or associated discipline.

Clearance Requirements:

• Ability to attain and maintain a Public Trust.
