The Lead Trainer, TII will play a critical role in ensuring we create a consistent, reliable service experience to our customers. This position will design, develop, and deliver training programs that align with our strategic pillar of Superior Stakeholder Engagement & Service.
The Lead Trainer will deliver operational and sales excellence by training those who create the exceptional customer experience, acting as a key change leader and driving performance in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. The trainer must foster our agile, continuous-improvement culture through the creation and delivery of training throughout TII, bringing the right level of discipline and expertise to their execution of consistent training practices. Partnering closely with TII Leaders, providing onboarding training and development support throughout the organization as the deployment of products, tools, process, and technological enhancements continues. The trainer will also play a fundamental role in progressing the career development opportunities to our most valued resource – our employees. This role will work with a variety of mediums and platforms such as in-person, virtual, asynchronous, and blended/eLearning programs.
This role reports to the Training Manager.
Strong preference to a hybrid schedule in the Glastonbury, CT area, but open to 100% remote candidates.
1-2 days in the office (flexibility with the days of the week), located in Glastonbury, CT. Travel to CT and NJ will be required.
What you will do for C&F:
- Lead development of eLearning strategy and standards as we look to incorporate asynchronous learning, including training simulations, and learning modules into existing and new training programs.
- Maintains and optimizes the usage of TII’s LMS associated courses and other learning related content.
- Consult with SMEs and stakeholders to determine training needs and align with variety of formats to provide a blended hands-on learning environment.
- Contribute to the overall success of the training team by implementing ways to continuously improve the learning process.
- With direction of Training Manager design, develop, and deliver skills-based training that aligns to organizational competencies and TII strategic goals.
- Coordinate and conduct seminars, workshops, and training sessions to leaders, and individual contributors as identified.
- Prepare training materials, such as branded power points, job aids, videos, and scripts, for training initiatives.
- Conduct evaluations to identify areas of improvement and proficiency; provide performance feedback to class and individual training participants.
- In partnership with managers, assess the performance over time of employees who have gone through new hire and ongoing training programs.
- Be a champion of change as TII continues to grow and evolve.
- Delivering training programs to other areas of C&F’s A&H Division.
- Perform other related duties as needed to fulfill TII’s HR Team mission and goals; embrace and embody TII’s principles and vision.

What you will bring to C&F:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
- An instructional design degree is preferred
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Learning & Development or Training role, with skilled development and delivery in a variety of formats (self-paced, instructor led, and blended learning) is required
- Experience with instructional design is required
- Experience implementing VR/AR programs is preferred
- Prior experience in the insurance or financial industry is preferred
- Personal Lines License is required (materials/training time provided)
- Advanced proficiency with eLearning software such as Camtasia and/or Articulate is required
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint), Teams/Zoom, SharePoint, and LMS Platforms is required; prior experience with Cornerstone is preferred
- Passion for people, learning, and teaching; able to create rapport and work in a team environment with others.
- Proven experience consulting with a variety of SMEs and stakeholders to assess and design comprehensive and targeted learning solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to develop and deliver in a variety of formats (instructor-led, self-paced, blended learning)
- Experience delivering leadership programs to upskill managers and aspiring leaders as well as ongoing training that aligns with company strategy and initiatives.
- Willingness to keep abreast of new technologies such as AI/VR/AR on appropriate projects.
- Understanding of effective adult learning methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to think critically and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ensure rigorous tracking and accountability for achieving goals and use data to inform decision making.
- Versed in learning agility; open to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills and processes to retain our competitive advantage.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $67,900.00 to a maximum of $127,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
