About the Role:
This a hybrid position based in Hingham, MA - but may be remote for out of state candidates.
Provide expert compliance support for compliance and classification team. Maintain relationships with broker and compliance entities to ensure all functions are being performed in accordance with company policy and CBP directives. Maintain relationships with US CBP, Fish and Wildlife to ensure compliance with all federal import regulations. Perform periodic audits on internal functions and functions performed by broker.
What You'll Do:

This position touches various points and group members of Talbots’ process calendar, Global Supply Chain, and regulatory agencies and impacts the security of imported cargo. This position is responsible for critical decisions that ensures the flow of goods disruption free and helps prevent penalties associated with US Customs recordkeeping requirements, filing customs entries, duty saving programs, and CTPAT activities.

This position ensures the integrity and accuracy of transactions as well as other duty saving programs and fortifies the record keeping and post entry review requirements with customs.

Recommend best practice policies and procedures to ensure Talbots’ continued participation in the Customs & Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. Assist the Trade Compliance with the administration of the C-TPAT program.

Maintain and update Talbots parts database, updating broker weekly.

Monitor import related emails, respond timely and escalate accordingly.

Conduct annual audits via SCAN system monitoring factory performance following up on CAPAs to ensure factory compliance.

Review new factory documentation as it pertains to CTPAT security, making educated recommendations on moving forward.

Assist in product classification as needed.

Monitor trade compliance risks globally, keeping updated database of findings.

File drawback claims and process weekly shipments through the Integration Point system.

Attend conferences /webinars to remain current and up to date with best practices to formulate recommendations and Maintain best in class tier 3 status.

Monitor/facilitate the successful execution of terms and conditions ofall trade agreements that Talbots’ participates in. Validate the eligibility of certain products in regards to these programs for both the United States and Canada. Maintain database and supporting documentation.

Perform internal audits on compliance functions. Maintain proof of review. Present findings to senior management on a regular basis for further review/action.

Maintain ISF monitoring.

Maintain recordkeeping requirements per US Customs regulations (19CFR). Document the recordkeeping process for ease of access for the Trade Compliance Team.

Internal: Talbots Import, LLC Operations, Sourcing, Product Development, Finance, Legal Department, Social Compliance Department, IT and Systems Departments
External: Service Providers, Consultants, US Customs Lawyers, Trade Groups, US Customs, and other Regulatory Agencies
Who You Are:

Recommended – Customs House Brokerage (CHB) License

Minimum 7 years’ experience in a substantially similar role.

Required – demonstrated knowledge of Import Logistics, Customs terminology, classification of apparel, footwear and jewelry.

Expert working knowledge of PC based systems, Integration Point systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Highest level of personal integrity and ethics required.

Excellent communication skills required.

Candidate must be a self starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi task and collaborate cross functionally.
