About the Job
JOB PURPOSE
Build, repair and maintain plastic injection molds and fixtures.
Assist Tooling Manager and/or Toolroom Supervisor in daily running of the Toolroom.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
Perform machining processes used in creating tooling.
Perform hand work processes for finishing tooling such as polishing
and bluing shutoffs.
Assemble and disassemble complex plastic injection molds.
Perform tooling maintenance and repairs.
Perform tooling changeovers when required.
Perform machine maintenance when needed.
Assist in troubleshooting production issues.
Assist in keeping work areas clean.
Document work as it is performed.
Have working knowledge of each job that is in the toolroom.
Answer question and make decisions when the supervisor is not
present.
Be able to organize and track information needed to complete jobs
placed in the toolroom.
Experience
Required:
Must have 10 or more years experience building plastics injection
molds.
5 or more years Cad-Cam experience.
Preferred:
2 years shop lead experience.
Special
Knowledge/
Skills/AbilitiesRequired:
Must be able to read and comprehend blue prints and work
instructions.
Must have good mathematical skills.
Must be able to work un-supervised.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to use standard shop measure equipment such as
micrometers and calipers.
Must be able to operate equipment needed to complete tasks.
Must have attention to detail.
Must have good communication skills.
Hypermill or other Cad-Cam experience.
EDM experience.
