Job Title: Fire Protection Testing Technician
Job Summary:
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a skilled Fire Protection Testing Technician for an immediate full-time position. This role involves inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems to ensure they meet safety regulations and standards. Candidates must be able to start immediately and are expected to work onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and suppression systems.
- Verify the operation and effectiveness of fire detection and suppression equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues or malfunctions in fire protection systems.
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform maintenance tasks on fire protection equipment, such as cleaning, adjusting, and replacing components.
- Repair or replace faulty parts to ensure system reliability.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Accurately document inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements or repairs.
Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain testing results and necessary actions.
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements based on findings.
Safety and Training:
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in fire protection technology, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience with fire protection systems is advantageous. On-the-job training may be provided.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of fire protection systems and relevant codes.
- Proficiency with testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Certifications: Certifications from professional organizations (e.g., NICET, NFPA) may be required or preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Location: Fully onsite.
- Physical Activity: May include climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in confined spaces.
