About the Job
Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Lead Technician. They are seeking Service Technicians at all levels (I, II, III) to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the delivery, installation, and servicing of rental HVAC equipment. Higher-level technicians will possess advanced skills in troubleshooting air-cooled chillers and large tonnage HVAC equipment, including setup and repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders received from the sales department or branch manager, ensuring timely fulfillment and delivery.
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences that encourage repeat business.
- Install HVAC equipment as necessary, including running temporary hoses for heating and flexible ductwork for temporary applications.
- Utilize appropriate PPE and fall protection as required at all times.
- Perform initial equipment startup and necessary service repairs.
- Retrieve equipment from customer locations upon completion of rentals and document returned items.
- Conduct equipment reconditioning per established work instructions and complete required checklists.
- Safely store equipment in the warehouse and maintain inventory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience levels range from 0-5 years (Entry-Level to Senior Technicians).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A 2-year HVAC certificate and/or Universal Refrigeration Certificate or equivalent experience is preferred for higher-level technicians.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products or similar software; familiarity with MRP or Rental software is a plus.
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug test to operate company vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. of equipment using safe lifting practices.
- Strong customer service aptitude, effective communication skills, and mechanical knowledge.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Additional Information:
- This position may require working a rotating on-call schedule and being available for evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons.
- Travel may also be necessary.
- Overtime and double-time pay rates apply for applicable hours worked.
