Who We Are:
The mission of the Capital Improvements group is to provide functional, comfortable, safe, and maintainable facilities and infrastructure to meet the present and evolving needs our clients, from both the technical and service divisions within SwRI.
Objectives of this Role:
- Serve as a representative of the Facilities department to internal clients and as a representative of SwRI as whole to external design and trade partners.
- Assist Facilities management with cost forecasting and reporting of real-time metrics of project success.
- Work cooperatively with other Facilities staff to ensure standards and procedures are consistently implemented and maintained across the project portfolio.
- Coordinate between the design and construction teams, and the building end-users, to ensure facility requirements are captured, implemented, and constructed effectively.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Manage design and construction activities for facilities-related projects such as new buildings, additions, and remodels.
- Prepare and evaluate design studies, and develop project budgets.
- Guide bid processes.
- Manage construction administration (budgets, schedule, scope, testing and inspections, etc.).
- Manage internal clients, design consultants, and contractors in the office and on construction sites.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction, Construction Science, or similar discipline with related industry experience.
- 10-25 years: Experience in architectural, building engineering, or construction project management, administration, or other aspects of similar work.
- Code research, submittal review, and development of scopes of work.
- Ability to work with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
