About the Job
The Lead Teacher at Children's Land of Wheeling is entrusted with the pivotal role of preparing young learners for their forthcoming educational journey. This role demands a seasoned educator who can craft a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that caters to the developmental needs of pre-kindergarten children. The Pre-K Teacher must have a comprehensive understanding of child development as it is essential to ensure the highest standards of education and childcare.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Monitor the children's developmental milestones and maintain detailed records of their progress.
• Facilitate a structured daily routine that includes educational activities, playtime, and rest periods.
• Always ensure the safety of the children by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.
• Collaborate with parents to keep them informed about their child's development and any concerns.
• Work closely with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and cooperative working environment.
• Create and utilize educational materials to stimulate the children's senses and promote learning.
• Organize activities that encourage the children to explore their surroundings and develop their motor skills.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in pre-kindergarten education and care.
Qualifications:
• Associate or Bachelor's or Degree in ECE or related field preferred
• Previous experience working with pre-kindergarten children.
• Mandated Reporter certification
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Patience and a genuine love for working with young children.
