CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Responsibilities for this Position:General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Lead System Test Engineer for the Columbia Training System. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will lead the planning, development, and execution of system test activities associated with the SSBN Replacement (SSBN-R) Program Strategic Weapon System Training System. The selected candidate will lead a team of system test engineers, and work closely with Software, Hardware, and Software Quality Assurance personnel to achieve program objectives.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Provides direct technical leadership of a system test team responsible for the system integration and verification testing of the Columbia Strategic Weapon Interface Simulation (SWIS) system.
- Responsible for planning and tracking of the test development and execution, including backlog definition, and support during period and sprint planning activities.
- Participation in "on-system" test activities in the SSBN Replacement (SSBN-R) In house Engineering Test System (ETS).
- Problem reporting, investigation, and resolution including requirement updates, system/subsystem design updates, and test regression throughout the remaining integration and test life-cycle including final on-site test and integration at the UK Trident Training Facility.
- Coordination of test activities and problem resolution with the broader cross functional team including software engineering, hardware engineering, Software Quality Assurance, Cyber, and PMO.
- Providing metrics associated with test planning, test execution, and problem report burn-down for report out to engineering leadership
- Provide support to the DPME/Product Manager in terms of earned value score card status, estimate to complete tasking associated with system testing activities, and engagement in program team meetings both internal and external.
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced test team members.
- Engage in risk assessment/mitigation activities.
- Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams across the company.
- SysMl Model updates associated with requirement and design changes occurring during system integration and test.
- Engagement with external customer(s) providing technical status.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to effectively plan and execute the development of System Verification Test work products (test cases and procedures).
- SSBN-R Fire Control and/or OHIO Fire Control knowledge desired .
- OHIO Training Program experience desired.
- Agile SCRUM with experience using JIRA for management of team backlog.
- Requirement analysis and development experience.
- System Design experience.
- Modeling with SysMl/Magic Draw a plus.
- Software configuration management including problem reporting/resolution.
- Proficient with requirements management & system modeling tools.
Minimum Salary:USD $107,600.00/Yr.Maximum Salary:USD $119,400.00/Yr.Salary Note:This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.Company Overview:
