Overview
JST is currently seeking a Lead System and Database Manager to join our team.

The Lead System and Database Manager is a critical role within the program, responsible for the overall management, security, and efficiency of the program's information systems and databases. This position involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems and databases that support the program's educational and research objectives. The Lead System and Database Manager ensures that all technical resources are aligned with the program's needs, offers strategic insights into the use of technology to enhance program outcomes, and maintains the highest standards of data integrity and security.
- Expert knowledge of database management systems, SQL, and data warehousing principles.
- Proficiency in system security protocols, data encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the capacity to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, deployment, and management of information systems and databases. Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure to meet program needs.
- Monitor system and database performance, conduct regular audits, and implement enhancements to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
- Lead a team of IT professionals in the development and maintenance of system and database solutions. Mentor team members and manage resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. Ensure compliance with military, federal, and contractual data security standards and protocols.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments that can enhance program capabilities. Lead the integration of innovative solutions to improve data management and program delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in system and database management, preferably within a military, defense, education, or research setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex information systems and databases.
- Strong background in system security, data protection, and compliance with IT standards and regulations.
- Must be Security + Certified.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional are preferred
Required Clearances and Screenings
- Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance, with TOP SECRET clearance being advantageous.
- MUST be able to pass a US Government Security Clearance
