Position Overview
The Strategy & Planning team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Strategy Analyst Lead! With the increase of requests from all collaborators, it is essential that our metrics and data are accurate, instilling confidence and credibility both internally and externally. This position maintains the integrity of the sustainability master data in multiple computer systems, updates the monthly dashboard, and keep the central suite of tools current. This position will report to the Strategy & Sustainability Director and work closely with the entire Sustainability team and cross-functional business partners!

- Manage and improve Novelis' environmental data collection processes by collaborating with internal business collaborators.
- Track, analyze, and report Novelis' carbon inventory, waste and water usage and their progress against targets using Novelis Sustainability business information software and other tools/technologies such as PowerBI.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Novelis' carbon emissions forecasting models.
- Develop performance metrics, baselines, and targets to drive emission reduction programs.
- Support and implement Novelis' annual environmental metrics audit project by working with internal business collaborators and external audit firm to assure the data for accuracy for collaborator consumption.
- Manage Novelis’ customer survey and data inquiry requests.
- Perform scenario and ad-hoc analyses to advise sustainability strategies and opportunities for the most relevant reductions.
- Update business information tools, spreadsheets, and presentations to ensure they reflect the latest information, and identify improvements to our workflow.
- Collaborate with internal collaborators (e.g., regional and Value stream leads, finance, operations, strategy, etc.) to source, automate, and analyze data from company operations, including production, to measure and monitor greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability-related metrics.
- Support and/or conduct life cycle assessments (LCA) in collaboration with other stakeholders in line with best practice standards.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required plus 5+ years of strong quantitative experience in GHG accounting, corporate sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge and experience in organizational and product carbon foot printing, with a good familiarly with the relevant standards (e.g., ISO 14040/44/67 and the GHG Protocol Corporate and Product Lifecycle standards).
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, specifically the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
- Experience reporting to CDP and Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
- Experience and a strong understanding of corporate sustainability data management, analysis and interpretation is essential.
- Work experience in the manufacturing field required
- Hands-on experience in the environmental/sustainability data audit and assurance process. Skilled in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Adobe’s Creative Suite, Thinkcell, Vizio and PowerBI.
- Proficiency with Adobe’s Creative Suite, Thinkcell, Vizio would be a nice bonus.
- Ability to problem-solve and prioritize multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, matrixed organization.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to aid in the building of relationships and collaboration with key partners and teammates.
- A self-motivator with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with interdepartmental team
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a carbon management or sustainability-related field preferred
- Work experience in the metals sector preferred
