Job Overview:
A leading renewable energy company in Phoenix is seeking a skilled Solar Installer / Electrician to join their team. This role involves installing, wiring, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential and commercial clients. Candidates must have a solid understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and solar installation best practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and passionate about sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation: Install solar PV systems, including wiring, mounting, and securing panels on rooftops and other structures.
- Electrical Wiring and Connections: Perform accurate and code-compliant wiring and connections for PV systems, ensuring compatibility with grid-tied and off-grid systems.
- System Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing to confirm system functionality and troubleshoot any electrical issues post-installation.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and NEC safety standards, implementing all necessary measures for safe, compliant installations.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Provide ongoing maintenance and repair services, diagnosing issues and performing corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional electrical training or vocational certification preferred.
- Certifications: California General Electrician (C-10) License or Journeyman Electrician certification required. NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification strongly preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in solar installation or as an electrician, with proven work on residential or commercial PV systems.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with solar PV system components, electrical code compliance (NEC), and OSHA safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
