Join us as a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Commercial Card Technology team, and be part of a dynamic group that creates groundbreaking, high-quality solutions. You'll play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. As part of JPMC's Commercial Card Business, we offer our corporate clients unique Commercial Credit Card Payment products, solutions, and capabilities. As a key technical contributor, you'll drive critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting the firm's strategic business goals.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Expert in Java programming, with extensive experience in Java Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
- Proficient in RDBMS (Oracle), SQL, Unix Shell Scripts, and cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
- Proven experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture, Application Resiliency Patterns, API Security, and CI/CD processes (e.g., Jenkins, JFrog, Spinnaker).
- Skilled in architecting secure, scalable systems using clustering, load balancing, and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, MQ Series, AWS SQS, SNS).
- Hands-on architect with a passion for mentoring software engineers, balancing leadership and coding responsibilities
- Proficient in Agile methodology and experienced with SDLC tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT, JUnit, Selenium).
- Ability to independently tackle design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Banking and Payments domain background
- Experienced in deployment models and strategies to rollout upgrades to AWS applications
- Experienced in Observability and Monitoring Tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, OpenSearch, Grafana, Datadog)
