**Job Summary:**

We are hiring a Lead Software Engineer to join the team that is responsible for the Unified Messaging Portal which will be the central hub for managing all messages and campaigns delivered to hundreds of millions of
customers across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, STAR+ and Bundles. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Data, Design, Program Management, and
more to help shape the vision for the Unified Messaging Portal and convert that vision into code. **Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:**

· Build high-performance scalable code for deployment both internally and externally.
· Work with a distributed team of engineers building software in a collaborative development process.
· Provide verbose, actionable PR reviews for junior and senior team members alike.
· Help to form a strong team culture of transparency and collaboration, contributing meaningful feedback to the rest of the development team, and being open to receiving feedback as well.
· Participate in the on-call rotation, supporting systems and services during production incidents.
· Create strong relationships with engineering and cross-functional partners
**Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:**
Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities)
Basic Qualifications
+ 7 + years of related work experience
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
+ Front-end web development experience working with Typescript, React, HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, and vanilla JS
+ Experience working collaboratively across development, design, product, marketing, and more
+ Experience using design tools for development purposes (such as Figma and Sketch)
+ Proven ability to mentor more junior developers
+ Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
+ Experience working with localization and/or internationalization
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience shipping entertainment/streaming media applications/platforms
+ Experience building messaging experiences, especially Email and Push
+ A history building internally scalable UI systems
+ Solid understanding of A/B experimentation
Required Education
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study

**Content Operations**
+ Content Operations is ultimately responsible for successfully delivering Disney's entertainment and sports content to millions of people every day. This involves developing, operating, and managing a global content supply chain - the myriad of steps involved from taking a finalized TV show/movie, or live piece of content, from inside Disney to audiences around the globe, in their preferred language and format. This team also manages technology operations in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
**Design**
+ The Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology Design team thinks beyond what is possible today. They discover, disrupt, and chart a course to where our fans and consumers will be next. Design brings the Disney magic to life by building digital customer experiences via the entire portfolio of both consumer-facing products and internal products and tooling. This includes Sports, Entertainment, News, Streaming and Enterprise Products and Experiences.
**Engineering Services**
+ Engineering Services designs, builds, and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology's worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of cross-functional services and technologies, including Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security.
**Media Engineering**
+ Media Engineering is an innovative organization that is focused on providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers around the world, powered by exceptional technology. This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels - including streaming, linear, and theatrical - so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
The hiring range for this position in NY is $189,300 to $253,800 per year and in San Francisco is $197,900 to $265,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered
