The Lead, SIEM & Detection Engineer position is responsible for SIEM engineering, alerting and detection strategy team for Humana systems. This role works closely with EIP's Threat Management and Response teams as well as other enterprise information security teams.
The Lead, S IEM & Detection Engineer role is responsible for technical execution of the SIEM and detection engineering functions. This team provides oversight of the SIEM and owns a custom alerting and detection framework to stay on top of emergent threats in support of security response and other operations.

Required Qualifications
+ Minimum of 5 years' experience in SIEM engineering, incident response operations or security engineering.
+ Advanced technical knowledge of SIEM platforms at a large national or international scale
+ Strong understanding of the threat landscape in terms of the tools, tactics and techniques of threats and a strong understanding of how complex, multi-stage malware functions
+ Experience creating and maintaining custom security detections in support of monitoring and response activities that leverage threat intel and attack surface information. Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK or similar frameworks is desired.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Professional Certification in a relevant cybersecurity field (i.e., CISSP, CISA, CISM)
+ Creation and maintenance of policy, standards, procedures, and documentation
+ Able to participate in an on-call rotation to support critical incidents
+ Leverage automation and orchestration capabilities to drive efficiency improvements for security operations.
+ Strong knowledge of system and network administration whether on premise or in varied cloud environments consisting of physical or virtual workloads.
+ Experience working under and providing support for regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, SOC2, etc.
+ Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related field is preferred
Remote/WAH requirements:
+ WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
+ A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
+ Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
+ A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$126,800 - $174,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
