Daubert Chemical Company is seeking an experienced Lead Shipper to work in the Warehouse at its chemical manufacturing plant located near Midway Airport in Forest View, IL. The Lead Shipper assists the Warehouse Supervisor in managing the flow of all finished goods and raw materials into and out of the warehouse, to include production and inbound shipments receipts, customer shipments, and is committed to accurate inventory counts and data entry. We expect the Lead Shipper to have at least 5 years of warehouse or shipping/receiving experience; being a Lead previously is highly desired, as well as working in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities included:
- Preparing finished good for shipment; receive and store raw materials in inventory; load and unload trucks; verify records on incoming and outgoing shipments such as shipment counts, weights, and measures for documentation.
- Prepare shipping paperwork, adhere to DOT regulations.
- Package, palletize, and label containers correctly for shipment.
- Completes shipping documents accurately with required information in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
- Operates forklift truck to move materials, load and unload trucks. The forklift is used for the majority of the shift.
- Maintain housekeeping in warehouse and shipping docks.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality is required.
- Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.
- Work overtime as needed when the loading/unloading of trucks extends beyond normal work hours or trucks arrive at the end of normal work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Minimum 1 year forklift experience is required. Must be physically able to safely operate a forklift for the majority of the shift.
- Must have computer skills for data entry and completion of company online training courses.
- Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions.
- Leads by example and follows the Company's Code of Conduct. Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.
