Responsibilities
Lead assigned staff in performing medical and diagnostic imaging activities or tasks.
+ Ensure quality in imaging, patient care and work flow. Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
+ Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
+ Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.
+ Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations.
+ Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
+ Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
+ Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
+ Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ One or more of the following required:
+ Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Radiology Tech licensure issued by the Illinois Emergency Mgmt Agency required in combination with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
+ Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
Candidate must have the following qualifications:
+ ARRT
+ IEMA
+ BLS
Shift :
+ Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm, flexible to stay late on certain OR days
Duties include:
+ Making a monthly departmental schedule (Actual, On call, Open shifts, Entering On call on Combined On call Schedule).
+ Compliance (Binders for JCAHO, IEMA, Crash carts, Repeat Rate and Radiation Safety Committee.
+ Keep track of OR Cases, Flexing accordingly.
+ People Management (Coaching at the moment, until Radiology Manager available).
