Position Summary:
As a Prototype Test and Validation Lead, your primary role is to facilitate and manage the creation and fabrication of prototypes and mockups while carrying out testing and validation activities. You will ensure compliance with specifications, 3D models, and engineering documentation. Your responsibilities include overseeing processes, communicating with team members, setting timelines, allocating resources, and ensuring that prototypes are developed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop aircraft prototype and mockup interior engineering packages, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule goals
- Manage build and test capabilities in line with EETC roadmaps and strategies.
- Oversee Environmental Health and Safety within labs, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Plan daily activities for the prototype lab technicians, including risk assessment and control measures for safe operations.
- Provide long-term capacity planning forecasts in collaboration with the program management team.
- Organize and manage prototype shop areas, including metal, wood, and electrical shops.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in all operational activities.
- Plan and purchase necessary tools, materials, and consumables for lab operations.
- Conduct prototype and proof of concept tests, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Manage the instrumentation calibration plan to comply with company standards.
- Support project development technically during quotation, execution, and certification phases.
- Develop various levels of mockups for sales and commercial purposes.
- Assist in the fabrication of tooling, fixtures, and GSE for the aircraft production line.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in prototype/mockup fabrication and testing, ideally in aerospace.
- Previous leadership experience in a prototype or mockup development environment is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft interior prototype manufacturing and installation.
- Experience with trim and finish or seating manufacture is a plus.
- Ability to lead a team in an ambiguous landscape and identify solutions to unforeseen problems.
- Strong personnel leadership skills in dynamic environments.
- Systemic vision with strong problem-solving abilities; must be a self-starter.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess exceptional communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused with relationship-building skills
Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements:
- Ability to work safely, adhering to regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and state and federal regulations.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
- Availability for domestic and international travel
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
