JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates programming activity in the tube bend department. Responsibility includes identifying opportunities for new automation, development of skills required to support bend automation. Working with scheduling/engineering to optimize utilization of automation and manage programming function of all bend equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and coordinates the activities necessary to produce specified products within safety, quality, and cost standards. Leads a team of programmers to support and advance production. Also ensures schedule compliance.
+ Leads programing team in the Weld department.
+ Lead planning and installation of welding equipment, including welders, robotics, jigs, vision systems, etc. Program robotic equipment including PLCs, Fanuc, Omron, Motoman.
+ Responsible for implementing/maintaining machine time as designed by manufacturing engineer. Conduct feasibility studies to assure that implementation of recommended improvements would meet objectives with respect to safety, quality, market demands, competitive costs, and general financial criteria.
+ Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
+ Build relationships with and attends training with equipment suppliers to maximize equipment capability.
+ Work directly with controls and maintenance teams. Help maintain proper documentation for PLC logic, Electrical and Control procedures and standards, operator interfaces, electrical drawings and monitoring, and control hardware and software.
+ Support daily robot programming, troubleshooting, and file backups of updated processes. Troubleshoot robotic systems using knowledge of robot controllers, servo motion, electronics, and support maintenance with circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, and pneumatics.
+ Works with maintenance team to maintain and update as needed spare parts strategy, recommended PM, and frequency, etc. for automation and controls equipment.
+ Responsible for shutdown/start up procedures for robotic equipment.
+ Participate in quality review and root cause analysis.
+ Follow validation plan for process changes.
+ Participate in leading tooling AM/PM programs.
+ Develops and updates process documentation and procedure instruction.
+ Conducts direct machine/labor studies using acceptable engineering practices and establishes standards on operations, set up, robotic cell and workstation layout.
+ Works with Manufacturing Engineers to define tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process. Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineers/tool designers to specify or procure new tooling, fixtures and ideas and fixtures.
+ Ability to set-up and precisely position large scale hardware
+ Ability to troubleshoot program and/or machine issues
+ Self-Motivated with the ability to work within a team environment or independently as required
+ Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
+ PLC knowledge/experience preferred
+ Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Successful technical leadership on major controls and automation projects.
Base Pay Range:
$29.06 - $34.07
