The AbbVie International Commercial Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients lives. In the role of Associate Director / Principal Engineer, Technology II, youll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills. You will work with a team of product managers, software developers, data product managers, and user experience designers, where appropriate to understand requirements, design prototypes, and bring innovative technologies to production delivery systems.
In this role youll be responsible for:
- Defining and executing a comprehensive Commercial Technology Products Delivery strategy that supports unique needs of our Commercial International Business.
- Transforming the product strategy into delivery product roadmap that strikes a balance between the latest innovation and meeting the needs of various stakeholder teams by prioritizing delivery of critical initiatives that have the greatest impact on our business.
- Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of products, managing the product development lifecycle from ideation to implementation, and partnering when needed.
- Forming and leading the team of developers who drive International Commercials agenda and own various products across portfolio.
- Engaging in discussions on various ideas, effectively communicating your product vision and strategy across the organization.
- Working closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities, to conceive scalable and efficient Commercial Technology Products Delivery model.
- Establishing criteria for measuring the success and efficiency of Commercial Technology Products Delivery and overseeing the implementation and ongoing assessment of these metrics.
- Mentoring and contributing to the talent community at AbbVie, empowering local and cross-functional teams to do their best work.
- Providing thought leadership and contributing to the development of product development strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.
Qualifications
Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years experience; Masters degree with 8 years experience; PhD with 4 years experience.
- Deep understanding of latest Commercial Technology Products Delivery methodologies, with expertise in governance and product management practices.
- 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role within product development, with demonstrated success in driving the strategic product development.
- Prior experience working within a global team/organization and managing global stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving initiatives from conception to execution.
Beneficial
- Previous research experience in technology or SaaS domains (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Health Cloud, Veeva CRM)
- Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
