Lead, Platform Architect
Overview:
Infrastructure Design Architects is a team of Technology Architects and Engineers responsible for the analysis and design of the infrastructure framework to fit the application, platform or system needs in-line with operational standards and principles.
This job requires experience and knowledge in internet fundamentals related to web servers, application servers, Networking, DataBase, Disaster Recovery, internet security and other internet technologies.
Role:
Infrastructure Design Services is engaged from the beginning of the analysis and design phase to work with the application team(s) and other critical teams within Mastercard to ensure that the completed infrastructure and application architecture aligns with MasterCard’s security, scalability and availability standards.
Infrastructure Design Services' primary deliverable is the TAD (Technical Architecture Document) which details the infrastructure design for the application, platform or system.
Responsible for the delivery of the Technical Architecture Document(TAD) to meet the requirements of the Application Team's Solution & their SLA.
Support the resolution of problems impacting infrastructure or product availability and performance globally.
Partner with BizOps and Application teams to support the PCI documents and external/internal audits.
Guide and train the Engineers and junior architects.
Engage in collaborative exercises and discussions with Solution Architects, Web Platform Engineers and other Shared Services Engineers to Implement, manage and support internet infrastructure components.
Research alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.
Required Skills/All About You:
Advanced knowledge of middleware infrastructure technologies (Apache, Jboss, WebSphere, Tomcat, F5, ISAM) and infrastructure fundamentals related to Data Bases, Servers, Data Center, Disaster Recovery and Security.
Ability to establish relationships and partnerships with application development teams and internally within Operations.
Strong coaching and written/oral communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and react to emergency challenges without disrupting team dynamics.
Understanding of Scaled Agile.
Ability to understand technical conversations and communicate technically with other teams.
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to transform Mastercard’s operational approach to supporting service delivery teams and build applications with operations in mind.
Knowledge of automation, CI/CD, and cloud-based technologies.
Provide technical leadership and participate in evaluating new technology for Mastercard.
Ability to conduct difficult conversations both internally within the team and externally with service delivery teams.
Ability to multi-task.
