Selectek is seeking a Lead Piping Designer in Kennesaw, GA.
Job Details:
Collaborate with engineers and designers to determine the design scope and modeling activities adhering to the BIM Execution Plan
Route cost-effective piping systems including steam, boiler-feed, condensate, cooling water and instrument air
Review the contract scope documents, codes, and permits to ensure compliance
Review and interpret piping systems in PFD and P&ID drawings
Collaborate with stress engineer on piping design
Interpret pipe stress analysis reports for incorporation into piping design
Provide design expertise working with piping and instrument diagrams, drafting sketches for 2D or the modeling of 3D equipment for power systems including steam generation, boiler feed and condensate, water treatment, fuel handling, ash handling, conveying systems and air and gas systems
Review multi-discipline drawings for conflicts and provide practical solutions for construction-related issues
Review weekly project schedules to ensure that deadlines are met
Attend weekly PM meetings to review design progress and to establish the working agenda for the next week
Travel to the project site as needed throughout the duration of the project
Required:
A minimum of 10 years as a Piping Designer in a heavy industrial setting
Experience as a Lead Piping Designer
Demonstrated ability to carry a project from conception to construction
Experience with pipe routing and layout
Experience with pipe support location, hanger design and routing high temperature (above 500?F) and high pressure (above 500 psig) piping
Knowledge of ASME design codes B31.1 and B31.3
Knowledge of vessel fabrication including inspection of vessels, piping, and construction
Proficient with AutoCAD Plant 3D or equivalent 3D software such as CADWorx
Proficient with AutoDesk BIM 360, Navisworks, and Bluebeam (Revu)
Ability to manage, plan, organize, and prioritize workload of assigned tasks
Experience collaborating with 3rd party (non-USA) contractors preferred
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Specific experience working for an EPC firm involved in steam and power projects would be a PLUS
Pay range: $90,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
