K2 is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to join our K2 Tampa team in support of our clinical trials research. The Pharmacy Manager provides direction and oversight of pharmacy clinic activities and staff. Develops and manages the departmental infrastructure, staff performance, and ensures compliance. Initiates proactive consultation with clinic management, business development and client representatives concerning pharmacy services in the clinic. Assumes primary responsibility for the visibility, reputation, and quality of pharmacy services.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Establishes, approves, and maintains Pharmacy procedures and policies to support management operation guidelines related to investigational product (IP) and their administration to study volunteers.
• Ensures adherence to all FDA regulations, state and federal laws and maintains documentation of such. Develops departmental infrastructure.
• Provides consultation to clients concerning future studies as it relates to pharmacy procedures and IP preparation and/or equipment for IP delivery. Assists with study feasibility from a pharmacy perspective.
• Analyzes the performance of the Pharmacy in terms of cost effectiveness and productivity. Manages departmental budgets. Ensures Pharmacy Services meets or exceeds annul financial goals for clinical site. Provides direction and communicates departmental goals and objectives; Ensures alignment with clinic goals and objectives.
• Establishes a positive working relationship between the pharmacy department and all other departments, teams and project managers to ensure a total environment of teamwork throughout the course of a trial.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Expert knowledge of GCPs, FDA, DEA regulations and guidelines as they apply to the dispensation of investigational product in a clinical research environment.
• Advanced knowledge of clinical research procedures.
• Experience with IV Therapy
• Experience and training in aseptic techniques
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide direction, leadership and mentorship to staff.
• Strong strategic planning skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Participates in planning and implementation of study activities as it relates to the pharmacy and dosing of investigational drugs to study volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience within a hospital setting required
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 + years as a licensed research pharmacy technician) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
