Job Overview
Our focus is our patients and the community. The Lead Pharmacy Technician at Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding performs a broad range of complex technical responsibilities as a subject matter expert in all pharmacy operations functional areas. This position provides support to all retail pharmacy technicians, actively provides solutions and coaching, and fills in where needed. This is a full-time position based at our Carolina Park location.
Compensation based on experience and credentials
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Actively listen to patients and their concerns, addressing their needs promptly.
- Ensures all patient/prescriber text messages and voicemails are responded to.
- Delegate responsibilities to technicians and motivate staff to perform at a high level. Support the training and develop of the staff and provide coaching.
- Properly fill prescriptions, manage inventory and evaluates/correct overages, handle insurances, take phoned-in prescriptions and communicate with Pharmacist.
- Manages Sweetgrass Med-Sync program which includes setting up patients, processing sync meds, troubleshooting problems.
- Identify changes in patient medications and properly update profile.
- Unenroll patients when necessary.
- Handles drug recalls.
- Administer vaccines to patients.
- Other Duties As Assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- State Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- CPhT State Certification Required
- Immunization and CPR certification required.
- Independent Pharmacy preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Highly Effective Organizational Skills
- Ability to ensure accuracy of entering patient information
- Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues.
- Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships through effective communication, performance improvement and teamwork efforts
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
- Pharmacy Software – Pioneer Rx a plus
- Ability to learn new software and programs (MedSync)
- Proficiency with automation systems (Parata, Eyecon, RapidPak, etc)
- Ability to be coached
