Mountain Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Outside Plant Engineer to join our team. This role will primarily focus on traveling to various field sites to assist with project kickoffs, conduct field training, and oversee the successful execution of new outside plant (OSP) projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in joint use operations and demonstrate the ability to lead teams in the field. As a Lead Engineer, you will serve as a key technical expert, ensuring high-quality and efficient project delivery while mentoring junior staff in best practices.

- Travel to field sites to assist with new project kickoffs and ensure the project scope is understood and adhered to.
- Lead field training sessions for teams, ensuring all safety protocols and technical standards are met.
- Collaborate with project managers and permitting departments to ensure alignment between design, field execution, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert oversight in joint use design, pole attachments, and other shared infrastructure projects.
- Serve as the technical lead on field engineering tasks, such as route surveys, construction validation, and quality control of OSP installations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, including NESC, NEC, and regional permitting requirements.
- Work closely with clients, municipalities, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform inspections and audits of construction projects to verify compliance with engineering plans.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior engineers and field staff.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Outside Plant (OSP) engineering, with a focus on telecommunications and joint use design.
- Strong understanding of aerial, underground, and buried plant design.
- Proficiency in data collection, applications such as IKE office, Katapult, Trimble, or similar tools used in the field, as well as associated back-office functions/engineering, would be a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with pole loading analysis and it associated functions is desired.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a field environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on collaboration and training.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the East region.
- Must reside in the East region
