We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a robust engineering team, working on cutting-edge projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of mechanical engineering design related to process piping systems, including routing, sizing, materials selection, and pipe supports. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and development of facility mechanical systems, including piping, ductwork, and support equipment.
2. Utilize Auto Cad to design and draft detailed drawings for mechanical equipment and controls.
3. Create and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
4. Oversee the development and completion of IFR, IFD, IFB, and IFC documentation.
5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
6. Work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
7. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure the proper implementation of designs and adherence to safety standards.
8. Participate in project meetings and provide technical input to meet project objectives.
9. Be willing to travel up to 30% domestically to meet project requirements and client needs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Must hold a valid Professional Engineer License.
3. Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on petrochemicals.
4. Proficiency in Auto Cad and experience with other engineering design software.
5. Strong understanding of IFR, IFD, IFB, and IFC documentation.
6. Extensive knowledge of facility mechanical systems, including piping, ductwork, and support equipment.
7. Proven experience in mentoring junior engineers and leading a team.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
10. Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.
11. This position will be onsite at our client's HQ in St. Louis.
