Lead, Material Handler 2 - Kane Logistics

Supports and trains newly hired forklift operators within their area of responsibility.
• Assists supervisors and management of the facility in planning, assigning, and directing work
• Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial
equipment. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On a
daily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient
manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack
and store product in the appropriate areas.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products
are loaded and shipped.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or
containers.
JOB DESCRIPTION • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality
variances.
• Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count,
stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
• Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service,
Transportation and Maintenance.
• Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
• Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe
conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance
when observed.
• Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.



Monday-Thursday 5am-3:00pm

Pay: 21.50 per hour

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift Operator with rail-specific experience.
• Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment
(e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety
policies.
