The Lead Worker- Essential Janitor provides support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities that will enable the individual to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment. Through the support and guidance given to individuals with significant disabilities, they will be able to advance their knowledge, skills, and interpersonal skills opening up a variety of opportunities including upward mobility within Didlake's organization.
This position is responsible for assisting the Janitorial Supervisor in the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of cleaning crews in the maintenance of the contract. This person spends 50% of their time assisting Janitorial Supervisor in executing plans and direction for janitorial work to be done and 50% of their time completing janitorial tasks.
This position is considered essential personnel with the ability to respond to work in a timely manner as determined by contract needs and all inclement weather events. Accepting a position that is considered Essential Personnel means you must come to work as determined by contract needs during times when other employees are not required to do so.

Cleans hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Cleans floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets.
Replenishes bathroom supplies and floor supplies.
Sets an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
Assigns tasks and issues supplies and equipment to employees and inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
Requisitions supplies and equipment from Supervisor, APM, or PM.
Trains employees on how to do assigned work and in using equipment and supplies appropriately.
Addresses complaints and resolves problems of employees and customers; refers to supervisor as deemed necessary.
Fills in for general cleaning staff as needed.
Operates power equipment such as two-stage snow blowers.
When specified in the contract, during inclement weather, providing proper upkeep by removing snow from walkways, building entrances, and dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
Responsible for appropriate conduct and decorum.
Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
