Position Overview:
You will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting our faculty members to ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction and academic excellence. You will oversee various administrative tasks, contribute to curriculum development, and serve as a mentor and leader within your department.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and support to faculty in instructional methods, course content, and professional development.
Teach up to 3 courses per term, delivering engaging and academically rigorous instruction.
Serve as the lead for academic programs, overseeing curriculum development and program enhancements.
Participate in curriculum action committee meetings to contribute to the continuous improvement of our academic offerings.
Create and manage course schedules, assign faculty, and participate in the hiring process as needed.
Mentor and support faculty members in delivering effective course content through regular guidance and feedback.
Conduct classroom observations and annual reviews of faculty performance, providing constructive feedback.
Handle day-to-day administrative functions to ensure the smooth operation of academic programs.
Respond promptly to faculty inquiries and maintain a high level of faculty morale.
Assist in the orientation of new faculty members and participate in faculty in-service and orientation meetings.
Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through previous experience and qualifications.
Documented expertise in oral presentations, written communication, and interpersonal interactions.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate academic subject area or field of instruction.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a post-secondary institution as an Academic Advisor or in a student-centered, retention-focused role.
Demonstrated experience in supporting faculty development and academic program management.
