Lead Facility Maintenance Technician - The Copper River Family of Companies

About the Job
Copper River Infrastructure Services is seeking a Lead Facility Maintenance Technician to execute building maintenance and repair activities at NMUSA (Army Museum Fort Belvoir) as well as other facilities as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform small drywall repairs, light painting/Ceiling tile replacement, carpet tile replacement as well as light electrical, i.e. changing ballast, light bulbs, tubes, light plumbing, i.e. rebuilding or replacing Sloan valves, replacing faucet aerator, resetting or clearing garbage disposals.
- Perform general handyman services (i.e. whiteboard installation, picture hanging, minor furniture repair etc.)
- Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities; designate and monitor the work to facility coordinator personnel in order to achieve the completion of diverse tasks in relation to building and construction.
- Inspect site regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted to facility staff.
- Supervise subcontractors as needed
- Building Inspection, makes routine periodic walk-throughs of site, responsible for managing appearance of all common areas.
- Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
- Conduct preventative maintenance work.
- Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
- Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Required Knowledge/Experience
- Min of 5 years as a Facility Engineer/Coordinator or similar experience.
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience
- Strong analytical skills and proven organizational ability and attention to detail is a must
- Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and deadline-focused
- Ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of the facilities.
- Effectiveness in prioritizing assigned duties and evaluating the work of personnel.
- Outstanding skills for offering training and leadership to staff for them to be able to successfully carry out diverse duties associated with the building trades.
- Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules.
- Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize diverse assigned tools
- Outstanding ability to interpret sketches, blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to other personnel
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces
- Ability to climb ladders and use power tools
