Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to estimating team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all estimates.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cost estimates.
- Participate in project meetings and discussions, providing expert input on cost-related matters.
- Continually monitor industry trends and market conditions to ensure estimates are competitive and realistic.
- Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference.
- Utilize estimation software (HCSS) to optimize and streamline the estimation process.
- Prepare and present cost reports and analysis to management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in estimating projects in the Civil Engineering space.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in using HCSS or similar estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost control principles.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
